Plot Synopsis

ALASKAN SHOWDOWN is a reality program that follows Alaskans looking to resolve disputes outside of the legal system, as they settle their differences during "Thursday Night at the Fights" at Anchorage's Egan Center. Every Thursday evening from October through early April, locals have gathered for 24 years to watch their neighbors and friends, sisters and brothers, exes and enemies step into the boxing ring to duke it out for honor and pride. Each 30-minute episode features two bouts, including showdowns billed as cat fights or ground-and-pounds. truTV aired the pilot episode of the program on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 11pm ET, and based on ratings and viewer response, will decide whether to pick up the show as a series.
