Plot Synopsis

ALASKA MEGA MACHINES is a one-hour program that documents how Alaskan residents are able to not only endure, but thrive among the sub-zero temperatures, steep terrain and ice by using colossal equipment and machines to help them overcome extraordinary challenges. The series opener documents: a rugged ship built to withstand tsunami size waves travels on a highway unlike any other in North America; a fleet of machines combats a massive flood in the Arctic Circle; and the biggest, most powerful wind turbines in Alaska.

On Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Science Channel premiered the season finale of ALASKA MEGA MACHINES. In the season ender, "Arctic Ice Monsters," deep in the Alaskan frontier, 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle, a special mega machine keeps the state's oil industry moving. More than just a truck, it goes where others can't, hauling cargo across treacherous ice roads in the dead of winter.
