Plot Synopsis

In this 13-episode post-apocalyptic thriller series, a family of five's strength is tested when it becomes evident that the world as they know it is coming to an end and they must take to the road for survival. The Copeland family -- Karen and Joshua Copeland and their children Matt and fraternal twins Dana and Brianna -- face terrifying supernatural creatures and unprecedented disasters, including massive storms, earthquakes, meteor impacts, plague and the rapid decline of civilization as they endeavor to make it through to the mysterious next phase. Joshua is a university professor whose study of world cultures and beliefs will come in handy when the end of days draws near. His wife, Karen, is a fierce protector of her family, drawing on the combat skills and survival training she received as an Air Force pilot to keep her husband and children safe. Sardonic, and quick-witted, Dana has a keen analytic mind and a thorough knowledge of science that, unfortunately, does not protect her from the terrors around her. Her fraternal twin sister, Brianna, is the outlier in the family, an emotional, romantic, and rebellious young woman anxious to live her own way...until the shocks and tragedies of the end times put her on a new path. Their brother Matt, a star athlete and a fierce competitor, thinks that he's up to the challenge of facing the end of the world until the brutality of what he must do to survive begins to push his true character into the darkness.

On Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Syfy premiered the Season 1 finale of AFTERMATH. In the season ender, "Whispers of Immortality," the end of the world has arrived, and the Copelands must use every ally and every bit of knowledge they possess to survive. It still might not be enough.
