Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Meagan Good and Dijon Talton, A LA CARTE is a half-hour dramedy series that centers on the Black millennial dating experience and one girl's journey to the place she never thought she'd end up -- on the side. Gorgeous, young go-getter and overachiever Mahogany Rose, who's been suffering through a months-long sexual frustration, goes on yet another disastrous date. Things go from bad to worse and by the night's end, she draws the conclusion that "hoes are winning" and contemplates becoming one. Mahogany has had high moral standards her entire life. She has always had somewhat of a whimsical idea of how her love life would turn out. But when she meets Kaleb Myles, a charming and charismatic man who checks off nearly all her boxes, she's forced to reconsider her typical standards as she discovers that he falls short of a critical characteristic on her list -- being single. With the help of her friends, Misha Taylor, a teacher who works hard and plays even harder; Reign Moore, a recently cut off trust-funder forced to find alternative revenue to pay the bills and Shyra Clemons, a grad student who believes she has found the perfect man; Mahogany must decide if she will stick to her preference of being the one and only -- or step out of her comfort zone and learn to play number two. A LA CARTE premiered on Thursday, May 12, 2022, as AllBlk released the first episode. A new episode dropped each Thursday through June 16.

The sophomore season of A LA CARTE debuted on Thursday, September 14, 2023 on AllBlk, which released the first episode of the new season. A new installment dropped weekly through November 16. Season 2 explores who Misha, Reign, and Shyra are as friends to each other without the friend that brought them all together: Mahogany. Her absence will serve as a catalyst for comedy and drama within this new friend dynamic. In your mid-20's, relationships of convenience are fickle, and in L.A. especially, they are not easy to sustain. The mistakes they make will bring them closer in some ways and push them further apart in others. These three friends will continue their independent and collective journey discovering and unraveling who they are through the lens of comedy, love, sex, fire, and trial & error. In the season opener, "The Leftovers," Reign finds himself in danger of losing his law internship when one of his SugarBaby clients decides to go public; Shyra is looking for a new place when her old roomie gets promoted, while Misha and Nicole lay out the rules for their new open relationship.

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, AllBlk released "Glutton," the Season 2 finale of A LA CARTE. Shyra's graduation party is taking place in Big Bear and she's bringing the crew; Reign is blackmailed by his parent to get Brandon and Derek to settle; Misha's singing goals may have reached the end of the road.
