Plot Synopsis

A hard-driving, career obsessed Atlanta attorney returns to her rural hometown in the deep South for the funeral of her beloved mother. While there she learns more about her family's slave heritage. As the stories her mother told her as a child take on new meaning she begins to reconsider her life . Strongly affected by her new sense of self she decides to return to her roots and embrace her past.
