Plot Synopsis

First-time author Cassie Winslett has just had her first book published, a real-life account of her biggest-ever breakup called "My Heartbreak Year". At her first, and very modestly attended, book signing, she meets successful fantasy author Elliot Somersby whose first two books of a trilogy are big hits. She is soon paired with him for a book tour to promote their books. Doubtful of her own talent and afraid of comparisons to her mother, an award- winning novelist, Cassie initially finds Elliot to be far too self-confident and somewhat full of himself when they first meet, but as she gets to know the kind and caring man he really is, she finds herself falling in love for the first time since the painful breakup. The attraction between grows, but when Elliot makes a planned visit in Buffalo with his ex-wife, she becomes convinced that he might be working on a reconciliation and tries to put the brakes on her growing feelings for him. She tries to put him out of her mind, however when she attempts a do-over of her first book signing at her local bookstore, Elliot surprises her and reveals the truth about why he really stayed on in Buffalo, as well as his true feelings for her, whose faith in the power of love is restored with one, long-awaited kiss.
