Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Leola Mae Harmon. A devastating auto accident leaves Air Force nurse Leola Mae Harmon with a grossly disfigured face. When her husband leaves her she emotionally falls apart and contemplates suicide. She is save by a dedicated plastic surgeon who reconstructs her face during 40 operations and in the process rebuilds her self-esteem and fortitude.
