Plot Synopsis
In 1968 East Los Angeles a charismatic Mexican-American high school teacher becomes the mentor for a group of students who decide to stage a peaceful walkout against the injustices of the public school system. During the walkout strike the police attack and beat unarmed students as they attempt to leave the school. The teacher, along with the Brown Berets are arrested, uniting the community and ultimately opening the doors for higher education for all Chicanos in Los Angeles.
