Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Richard Gambino. In 1891 New Orleans, a wealthy merchant is determined to disrupt the new Italian stronghold that controls the docks. Collaborating with other town leaders, he engineers the murder of the police chief and blames the Italians for the crime. Eleven men are tried for murder, although they are acquitted, a racist mob of 20,000 storms the prison, lynching all but one of the innocent men.
