Plot Synopsis

In the not-too-distant future in Bucharest, Romania, the human population is dwindling while the vampire population is exploding. Vampires now walk openly amongst the human population, as a precarious peace exists between the two. A peace made possible by the introduction of a synthetic blood substitute, dispensed by the Romanian government, making traditional vampire feeding no longer necessary. Detective Derricks, an American working for the local police, is investigating a gruesome murder scene. Three vampires and one human, a black market human blood dealer, were viciously attacked... seemingly mauled by some kind of wild animal. But these deaths are just the latest in a string of such killings, so Derricks pays a visit to the head of the Vampire Crimes Division to make a radical request -- to free Johnny Harker and his Vampirdzhiya, or 'Vampire Hunters', from prison so that they can track down whoever, or whatever, is killing both humans and vampires alike, and threatening the delicate truce between the two in the process. Harker, the Hunters and Derricks venture deep into Vampire territory to try to unearth the truth, and soon discover a subspecies of mindless, man-sized vampire bats that have infested the city. They must now not only eliminate the vampire bat threat, but uncover the secret of their origin -- a conspiracy that threatens to rock the nation to its core, and destabilize the peace between human and vampire forever.
