Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Richard Paul Evans. Prequel to ''A Christmas Box''. During World War II a small-town southern businessman marries his secretary, who is pregnant by a soldier killed in combat. After the war the family faces good and bad times as they struggle to find happiness. They endure sickness, fire and ne'er-do-well relatives. They must also stand up against racism after their African-American best friend is murdered.
