Plot Synopsis

Follow up to last year's "Time for Me to Come Home for Christmas." Based on the book "Time for Me to Come Home" by Dorothy Shackleford and Travis Thrasher. Katherine braces herself for bittersweet memories of her late husband as she and her son Will set out to spend Christmas with her parents in Virginia. Their long train journey is enlivened by their seat-mate, Jack. Handsome, affable and considerate, he's a self-described frequent traveler who is never without his guitar. Though he reveals little about himself or the reason for his trip, his facility with conversation and card games make him a charming companion. She's even a bit disappointed when she wakes up at the train station in the morning to find he has already disembarked. Their paths cross again in her hometown, where Jack has temporarily joined a band playing at the annual Christmas charity dance. In the days that follow, Katherine and Jack find the bond between them growing deeper as they enjoy some of the simple joys of the season. Even as they develop a connection over the coming days, Katherine remains baffled as to why he would travel such a long distance for a single performance, foregoing Christmas with his sister and grandmother. And in fact, there is a deeper reason behind his journey - a personal mission that links him and Katherine in a way they couldn't have foreseen, but which will open the door to love and healing.
