Plot Synopsis

Shortly after breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Kylie reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Nick around the holidays. Nick, a divorced father, owns a local restaurant and seems to still hold a flame for her. His newly rekindled friendship with her opens his eyes to the importance of Christmas traditions - especially for his son, Bobby. Kylie continues her temporary job at recent ex-boyfriend, Alex's real estate company. She works hard to make money so she can pursue her real passion: baking and every year, she enters a Christmas gingerbread house competition with a large cash prize. Two weeks before the big competition, she discovers that her entry has been accepted and she uses Nick's restaurant kitchen to prepare for the competition. As they spend more time together romantic feelings begin to grow between them, making decorating for the holidays even more special. Just before the competition, she discovers one of the entrants is celebrity Chef Ina, who Alex's company has sponsored. Feeling pressure, Kylie scraps her original idea for a gingerbread Santa's workshop and instead imitates an idea from Ina's cookbook. Nick urges her to use her own creativity but Kylie won't listen. This disagreement threatens to squash their blooming romance. Just as he is about to tell Kylie how much he loves her, he receives a message from her saying she plans to pull out of the competition. Nick rushes to reveal his feelings but instead walks in on Alex proposing to Kylie. Though she turns down his proposal, the damage is done. As Christmas approaches, she must use her ingenuity, baking skills and good heart to not only win the competition, but also to win Nick back.
