Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by James Patterson. A New York book editor falls deeply in love with an author. On the night she plans to take their relationship to a deeper level, he tells her that he is breaking up with her and leaves with no further explanation. She is devastated and, unbeknownst to him, pregnant with his child. As she struggles to make sense of what has happened, she receives a diary from him, written by late his wife Suzanne to their young son with a note explaining that he hopes it will help her understand him better. As Katie reads, she begins to comprehend the painful journey that he recently experienced and how it influenced everything in his life and, in turn, in her life as well.
