Plot Synopsis

Samantha was hired to launch a line of Young Adult books, but her publishing company has her working on cookbooks instead. Needing to vent, she calls her lifelong friend Diana, a teacher at their hometown high school, and gets talked into coming home for SnowComing. Still smarting from being stood up by her high school sweetheart Jake at their SnowComing, she is reluctant but her dad, Coach Kerrigan is retiring and being honored, so she agrees. What she doesn't know is that Jake, now a famous pro quarterback and handsome as ever, is in town to honor the coach and staying in the bedroom down the hall from Samantha. Although awkward at first, they return to their easy banter and soon it's clear they haven't lost their chemistry. But Samantha remains cautious and the next day, trying to avoid Jake, she goes to the library, which is badly in need of updating. Urging her to do something about it, Jake admits he's tired of his fame and is considering a new path. Taking a cue from the coach, Jake and Samantha think they, too, might be able to begin anew and there's no better way than with a "Tailgate at the Library" fundraiser, where Jake can use his celebrity to draw patrons. Telling his agent he's done endorsing products, he must now dodge an interfering reporter who goes to Samantha for gossip and gives her upsetting news, leaving her to think she may have to close the book on Jake forever.
