Plot Synopsis

Sisters Ella and Marianne Dashwood could not be more different in their approach to life, or the family party planning business they have inherited. While Marianne is thoughtful, focused and all business, Ella is more playful and carefree and, more often than not, is trying to make up to Marianne for some mistake or oversight she is responsible for at Dashworks. Eager to prove her mettle to her sister, Ella takes on a new client for Dashworks just two weeks before Christmas, their busiest time of year. The new client is Edward Ferris, the new CEO of Ferris Wheel Toys. Ferris is a staid and stuffy businessman, but after promising to host a holiday party in honor of clients visiting from France, a desperate Ferris agrees to engage Dashworks, with Ella his designated party planner. Edward begins to loosen his grip on total control and slowly allows Ella's fun and playful ideas to help the event take shape. As they spend more time together leading up to the party, not only does he loosen up, he begins to like this impulsive and impetuous young woman. Marianne does not, however, take Ella's plan seriously and assumes that she will continue to flit from one career to the next throughout her life. However, when Ella overcomes a huge challenge and pulls off Edward's party in grand fashion, she achieves the success she has worked so hard for. As for capturing the heart of the uptight and emotionally unavailable Mr. Ferris, it seems that Miss Ella Dashwood might be overlooking the one thing that is as plain as the nose on her face.
