Plot Synopsis
Based on ''Ricky Nelson-Idol for a Generation'' by Joel Selvin. Chronicles the early years of the TV star and the strained relationship with his father, Ozzie Nelson. Between 1957 and 1964 he became a major teen idol, recording 33 Top 40 hits, but after the TV series was canceled in 1966 he found himself at loose ends. The next two decades were spent trying to find his own identity but just as his life was coming together with his Stone Canyon band he died in a 1985 plane crash.
