Plot Synopsis

In New Orleans, Molly, a lonely down-on-her-luck waitress meets a handsome, quirky jewelry-store clerk and thinks that maybe, finally, she's met the right guy. The more she gets to know Gus, the more he intrigues her, but she's also mystified -- and sometimes miffed -- because Gus seems really absent-minded and really preoccupied. She wonders if he has girlfriend or if he's hiding some big secret. What she doesn't know is that Gus Gillenwater was a brilliant young astrophysicist, until a brain aneurysm robbed him of short-term memory. Every night when he goes to sleep, what happened that day is lost; it just disappears in a brain void. When he wakes up the next morning it's literally a brand new day. He has to rely on sticky notes stuck on his alarm clock and his fridge and all over his apartment to remind him where he lives, who's who in his life and what he's supposed to be doing that day. As her love for him continues to grow, he discovers that he can indeed fall in love with the same woman every day. But Molly isn't so sure if she can imagine a future with a man who cannot recall their past.
