Plot Synopsis

A writer goes to work at a prison teaching creative writing to felons. There, he finds a protege in a convicted murderer who twenty years earlier was a Black Panther. Sentenced to life without parole, for a murder he was associated with but did not commit. Believing in his student's redemption after years in prison he works to free him. Armed with new facts in the case; that the FBI planted evidence in master plot to undermine the civil rights movement, he is able to obtain a Governor's commutation.
