Plot Synopsis

A behind-the-scenes look at the Bush-Gore Flordia presidential "hanging chad" vote recount-- from Election Day in November 2000 through the Supreme Cout's ruling in favor of George W. Bush five weeks later. Ron Klain, Vice President Al Gore's counsel, and campaign staffers learn of voting discrepancies in Florida and demand a recount. Lawyers, lobbyists and party honchos, both Democrat and Republican, descend on Palm Beach county in attempt to push their positions through the courts. After numerous rulings and tactical maneuvers on both sides the decision of who would become the 43rd President of the United States is left up to the Supreme Court.
