Plot Synopsis

A wealthy retired widower honors his recently deceased wife's last wish that he start a reading room in a small inner-city storefront that he owns in the neighborhood where he grew up. Though he faces a number of formidable obstacles, he is determined to fulfill her dying request. He presses on and in the process finds himself deeply involved in the lives of those who live in the community. In the end he finds new meaning in his own life by helping those around him.
