Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel" How My Private, Personal Journal Became a Bestseller" by Julia DeVillers. A painfully average high school freshman, who longs to be popular, creates a sassy and confident imaginary alter ego in her private journal where she lives out exciting, cool adventures in the halls of her school. When she accidentally turns in her journal as a homework assignment her English teacher loves what she has written and gets it published as a novel. When the book becomes an overnight success she can't help being a caught up in the media frenzy and her newfound popularity. She struggles to remain true to her old self but the nagging voice of her alter ego pushes her to exploit her newfound celebrity.
