Plot Synopsis
Based on the story by Norman Maclean. During the summer of 1919, at a forest ranger station in Montana, an arrogant 17 year old boy comes of age. With the help of a leathery but revered ranger and the camp's crusty cook the teen begins to mature into a responsible adult. A high stakes poker game at the end of the season also teaches the young man about honor and humility.
