Plot Synopsis
When Dot Hutelmyer's husband of 18 years left her for another woman, she was stunned. Determined not to play the role of victim, she sued her husband's mistress Lynn Cox, using an obscure North Carolina law known as ''Alienations of Affections'', designed to protect husbands and wives from predatory home wreckers. After a sensational trial, Hutelmeyer was awarded $1 million in damages.
