Plot Synopsis

Based on the book "A Family Under the Christmas Tree" by Terri Reed. San Francisco-based professional photographer Sophie faces Christmas alone when her photographer boyfriend Brent accepts an assignment in Asia. In Seattle's Bainbridge Island, Ascension Invention CEO David Murphy is looking for a nanny to care for his nine-year old nephew Troy for two weeks while his regular nanny is away. Their elderly next door neighbor, Louise Griffith would be a perfect substitute except that she has injured her foot. When Sophie learns about her Grandma Louisr'd foot, she flies north to be with her for Christmas. After mistaking Sophie for a prospective nanny, David accepts her offer to watch Troy for the afternoon, which goes so well Sophie offers for she and her grandma to be co-nannies for the next two weeks. Sophie and Troy are bonding, and she thinks about how much she will miss him when she goes back to San Francisco. She even toys with the idea of staying in Bainbridge and simply traveling for work, like her January trip to Switzerland will require. When her Switzerland shoot is moved up she will be foreced to miss the Christmas Pageant. There is sadness all around as Sophie prepares to leave. Troy is heartbroken, as is David who was starting to think that perhaps Sophie was the one. As she is boarding her plane, Sophie thinks about the Christmas Pageant, and is forced with a decision that will either derail her career or lead her to follow her heart.
