Plot Synopsis
In July 2002 nine coal miners at Pennsylvania's Quecreek mine were trapped 240 below ground where they waited for 77 hours while rescue crews frantically worked to free them. They battled contaminated air, inky darkness and surging floodwaters with ingenuity and brute strength and risked their own lives to save others and ultimately, rallied one another to hold out for the hope of rescue.
