Plot Synopsis

After quitting her job as a television reporter, Kelly Faraday takes her teenage daughter on a visit to her rural hometown. When they get there, Kelly's mother Ruth Hanson tells them that many of the town's farmers have sold their land to developers because of a water crisis. However, Ruth and Walt, Kelly's ex-boyfriend, are determined to keep the Hanson Ranch, which is the only property preventing the building of a casino from getting underway. As Kelly and Walt investigate, with help from a local reporter, their suspicions about the fishy casino deal are confirmed. But with the mayor in full support of the plan, it's going to take some work in order for the townspeople to keep the land - and water - that's rightfully theirs.
