Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Carson McCullers. In Georgia, during the summer of 1944, a 12 year old feisty, tomboy comes of age with the guidance of the family cook who offers wisdom and solace. As the family gets ready for a wedding, the motherless adolescent must deal with her feelings of abandonment and jealousy as her beloved, older brother prepares to get married.
