Plot Synopsis

In the psychedelic and drug fueled summer of 1969, Linda Kasabian arrives at the seemingly idyllic Spahn Ranch hippie commune in the hills outside of Los Angeles where she is embraced with open arms. Seduced by the group's free-love lifestyle, she revels in the sisterhood and acceptance. Taken with Charles Manson, he soon draws her into criminal activities, including late-night "creepy crawls" to steal from lavish homes. She, along with Susan Atkins, Leslie Van Houten, Lynnette "Squeaky" Fromme and the other young women who, are all under his demonic spell, do what they are told. Linda reluctantly becomes an accomplice in Manson's "Helter Skelter," a drug-fueled murder spree that included the brutal death of actress Sharon Tate. She ultimately breaks away from the cult and turns herself in as a star witness for the prosecution that helps to convict Manson and his followers, for which she receives immunity from prosecution. With original 1960s music from iconic bands such as Donovan, The Turtles and CCR, the film also authentically captures the clothing, hairstyles and makeup of the time.
