Plot Synopsis

Based on the characters in Janette Oke's book series "Love Comes Softly." In the mid-1800's Clark Davis is on his way to California to make his fortune in the gold fields when his adventurous dreams are put into jeopardy after he and a friend start a fight which damages a local cafe. Through a plea deal with the Sheriff, he works off his sentence as a farmhand for the Barlow sisters, Ellen and Cassie. Cautious Ellen only agrees to the Sheriff's offer because the farm has become too much for them to maintain alone. Clark slowly wins Ellen over, but suddenly suffers a traumatic head injury in a fall. As she nurses him back to health, he recognizes his feelings for her as something more than gratitude. He decides to express his true feelings, but is devastated to learn her former fiance has just returned and hopes to win her back. He must soon decide to either travel on or stay and fight for the woman he loves.
