Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Mark Peter Hughes. The story of how the powerhouse band Lemonade Mouth came to be after five uncelebrated students with a passion for music find each other, form a band and ultimately become the voice of their generation. In a chance meeting in detention, a high school musician, Stella, immediately recognizes the potential for the band of detainees to become a band of rockers, but first she must convince the reluctant group that they need to take a chance on expressing themselves and realizing their dreams. As the new friends learn more about each other, they discover their common belief that it's time for the students of Mesa High School to stand up and be heard -- all students, not just the popular athletes who get special treatment from the Principal. As they learn about music and about life, the group must surmount obstacles including their own lack of confidence, a rivalry with the popular band, Mudslide Crush, personal family problems and a school administration that just doesn't understand them.
