Plot Synopsis

A proud, laid-off factory worker, whose wife has recently died ,finds himself jobless, uninsured and barely able to feed his two young children. A successful surgeon, grudgingly volunteering at a local community clinic, befriends the struggling family and tries to help. At first the two men are polarized by their socioeconomic worlds but through tragedy they learn to connect as people. That connection offers a sense of hope for the millions of children who go to bed hungry.
