Plot Synopsis

Seattle radio DJ Emma Silver finds out her beloved grandfather has died and must go to his farm in Washington to take care of the details. She is stunned to learn that he has left her his farm, along with a sizable amount of debt. To keep the bank from foreclosing, she must find a way to raise the money, or face seeing the land end up as a parking lot. Following her grandfather's famed legacy, she decides to enter the annual pumpkin growing contest with his prized seeds, hoping to win the $50,000 grand prize. But farming isn't her forte, and the pressure to win mounts when the vicious new radio station manager, Kate, revamps Emma's show to include complete coverage from the pumpkin patch. Then, her annoying neighbor Seth cons her into becoming partners to get a share of the prize money. As the two spend the summer nurturing their pumpkin plants, they grow closer and a romance develops, but the relationship is threatened when her radio show becomes a hit and she gets a job offer in New York.
