Plot Synopsis

When traveling with his parents on a stagecoach along with a Judge and his wife, young John Goodnight witnesses the murder of his folks and the Judge when outlaws attack them. The only other survivor is the Judge's wife, who will soon become his surrogate mother. Twenty years later, John is a circuit judge in the 1880's Wyoming Territory where he presides over hundreds of cases in his journey from town to town. Traveling to the town of Crooked Stick, John sees the man who killed his family many years ago and who is now a wealthy businessman who bribes and buys his way to power. After the murder of an Indian, a wild shootout, a kidnapping and with the love of a good woman, John is finally able to see justice done.
