Plot Synopsis

Having recently separated from her husband Jonathan, Allyson and her nine-year-old daughter Claire move into an old house in a small suburban town. While moving into her new room, Claire discovers an old doll underneath the floorboards. Against her better judgment, Allyson allows Claire to keep it and soon, the two become inseparable. When Claire starts having trouble adjusting to her new home and her new school, Allyson suspects that the doll might be responsible. She starts looking into the history of the home and discovers that the previous owners had been murdered by their 10-year-old son. As it turns out, the doll had been his. Allyson tries to get rid of the doll, but Claire lashes out violently. To make matters worse, people start dying... specifically people who have wronged Claire in some way. Allyson doesn't want to believe that her little girl is a killer, but she suspects that the doll has some sort of a grip over her daughter. She consults a local professor who identifies the doll as a Central American worry doll, rumored to be able to remove the worries of its owner. In this case, however, the doll seems to be acting out on those worries. The evil doll is slowly taking over Claire's soul and Allyson realizes that unless she acts quickly, her little girl will be gone for good. She must race against time to destroy the doll in order to save her daughter.
