Plot Synopsis

For years, the government has been secretly relocating the world's geniuses (and their families) to the idyllic Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where daily life straddles the line between unprecedented innovation and total chaos. When U.S. Marshal Jack Carter wrecks his car and becomes stranded in Eureka, he quickly realizes that all is not what it seems. He soon finds himself involved in the investigation of a missing child who seems to have vanished into thin air after a mysterious and destructive force hits the town, also injuring the sheriff and killing some residents. A DOD official lets Carter in on a few of the town's secrets in an effort to get him to fill in for the ailing sheriff. Whether due to curiosity or his lawman's sense of responsibility, he agrees to take the job and sets out to uncover the causes of the deadly disturbances plaguing Eureka.
