Plot Synopsis

Newly widowed Mormon fundamentalist Leann and her 17-year-old daughter, Julina, move into a new compound when Leann becomes the fourth wife to Merrill. Julina, a free spirit who doesn't like following the rules, meets like-minded Ryder, son of The Prophet, Ervil. The two begin meeting secretly and soon fall in love. Sensing the teens' attraction, Ervil announces that God has told him to marry Julina and that they are to move to Mexico and start a new compound. When the two lovers discover this information, they begin to plan their escape; however, Ervil intercedes and drives Ryder to a remote area of the desert, where he leaves him, banished from the compound. After wandering for miles, Ryder gets a ride to Las Vegas, where he finds his old friend Micah, a former banished church member, and enlists his help to rescue Julina. Meanwhile, a young member of the sect confides a secret to Leann, and she realizes how much danger her daughter is in. With the help of Merrill and the other sister wives, they set out to save Julina from The Prophet and reunite her with Ryder.
