Plot Synopsis

A black English teacher is hired to teach at an intertribal high school on a Utah Indian Reservation. He soon finds himself reluctantly agreeing to coach the underachieving girls basketball team. Their pursuit of the state championship is jeopardized by personality conflicts and differing values. The coach and the team ultimately learn that success is a result of mutual respect of their cultural differences and an ability to work together.
