Plot Synopsis

An updated version of the feature film DRUMLINE (2002). Danielle "Dani" Raymond is a strong-willed, upper class Brooklyn girl who defies her parents in order to attend Atlanta A&T so she can join and revitalize their once-prominent drumline. Her quest to become the first female section leader is soon hampered by sexist upperclassmen, including her cousin Tyree, her feelings for fellow bandmate and rival Jayven, and the school's crosstown competitors. Complicating matters are drumline freshmen Tasha and Josh, who bring their own ambitions to the field. Dani, refusing to back down, is determined to restore the glory of the school's marching band. Adding to the drama is former drumline member, now Band Director, Sean Taylor, who is looking to make his mark on his alma mater while navigating some ghosts from his past that include the Dean, Dr. Nia Phillips, his brother Kevin Taylor and former band member, Devon Miles.
