Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Ann Packer. A young woman engaged to her high school sweetheart finds herself restless and unhappy and yearns to move on. After he is paralyzed in a diving accident she is filled with confusion and guilt and flees to New York City where she begins an affair with an intriguing, older man. His moody charm soon causes conflict and when she retunes home for a wedding and sees her old fiancee she begins to examine both her former self and the person she has become.
