Plot Synopsis

Based on the first book in Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark's series of holiday mystery novels. While Detective Regan Reilly's mother, Nora, the famous mystery writer, is laid up with a broken leg, her husband, Luke, and his chauffeur, Rosita, are kidnapped just before Christmas, and held for a million-dollar ransom. Regan, desperate to find her father, teams up with former cleaning-woman-turned-private-eye Alvirah Meegan. Together they track the case as the inept yet dangerous kidnappers make their demands known. Regan and Alvirah must race against time to find the pair before the kidnappers make good on their threat to kill the hostages.
