Plot Synopsis

In 1995, at an inner city Chicago high school, teacher Dr. Gerald Plecki recruits seven of his best students to compete in an elitist academic decathlon against wealthy cross-town rivals who have won the event for the last nine years. A team member gets a hold of the questions in advance, and Plecki is torn between failure and success. Desperate to win, he allows the kids to cheat, resulting in a whopping victory. Suspicions are aroused, investigations are launched and the truth exposed in a scandal that rocked the city.
