Plot Synopsis
Single mom Dana teaches math at her son Arthur's middle school and feels like he is starting to pull away from her. Extremely protective, she is also one of those people who always colors inside the lines. She's as predictable as the math she teaches so when she signs them up for a family camp adventure for Spring Break, it is no surprise that she plans the trip and schedules the activities down to the minute. While stocking up for the trip at a local sporting goods store, Dana meets the store's owner, Steve, an easy-going guy who happens to get a bit cheeky with her. Certain she is being disrespected as a customer, she storms out. She arrives at the camp only to discover that their assigned campsite is right next to that of Steve, and his teenage daughter, Lacey. When Dana and Arthur are forced to seek refuge in Steve and Lacey's tent after returning home to find a wild animal in theirs, the ice between Dana and Steve begins to thaw just a bit. Soon, everyone is enjoying their activities but Dana can't quite let go. The kids agree to accompany their parents on a hike but they get off-track and end up lost in the wilderness. Dana is fearful, but after finding their way back safely, she gives herself permission to loosen up and live more in the moment. Soon, the attraction between Dana and Steve becomes evident to both of them, and both their kids are starting to enjoy the trip. However, when Steve's ex-wife shows up unannounced, whatever was blossoming between Dana and Steve comes to a screeching halt. When time to break camp and return home arrives, Steve and Dana end up going their separate ways, both certain that the opportunity has passed. However, once back in town, Arthur and Lacey, now certain that their parents really like each other hatch a clever plot to bring the pair together once more.
