Plot Synopsis

Firefighter lieutenant Dan Farrell is a widower and single dad, who, although lonely, has no interest in dating. But a few weeks before Valentine's Day, his team responds to a fire at a local florist where he can't help but notice the pretty owner, Kate. When he struggles to buy flower arrangements for the station's annual Valentine's Day Firefighter's Ball, he enlists Kate's expertise and soon the two are spending lots of time getting to know each other. Inspired by his son Tyler's budding romance with another firefighter's daughter, he starts to open up his own heart and even asks Kate to be his date to the ball. Kate is feeling like she might like a guy for the first time in a while -- ever since breaking up with her ex, Gavin, who refused to marry her and moved away, breaking her heart. Dan and Kate talk about their careers and she listens as he reminisces about his late wife, who loved flowers. Just when he couldn't be happier, he is faced with the expected return of Gavin, who is determined to win Kate back with a marriage proposal. With the help of Tyler, Kate soon realizes who's her Mr. Right.
