Plot Synopsis

An elite team of brilliant scientists and daring adventurers called ''The Abyss'' is called into action when a seemingly idyllic island in the Gulf of Mexico mysteriously implodes, deadly bacteria spread from the bottom of the sea and threatens the world's oceans. As the team and their hi-tech equipment attempt to avert a global disaster, they discover a remarkable link to mankind's mythological past.
