Plot Synopsis

In Depression era Detroit, an unemployed man leaves home in search for work,explaining to his dejected wife and children that he will not be home for Christmas. In Kansas City he is wrongfully jailed in a case of mistaken identity. Upon hearing about their father's predicament, his two young children run away to enlist the help of President Hoover. The big man in Washington eventually hears their heartsick tale, pulls some strings... and the whole family is reunited for the holidays.
