Plot Synopsis

Based on the book "Sworn to Silence" by Linda Castillo. Years ago, the peaceful Amish farming community of Painter's Mill, Ohio, was shattered when a series of brutal murders left the town with a sense of frailty and a loss of innocence. Among the most affected by the tragedy was Kate Burkholder, a young girl who survived the terror and, as a result, left the Amish life behind. Fifteen years later, she returns to Painter's Mill as its Chief of Police. With an inside knowledge of the Amish community and her years working in a big city police department, she seems perfect for the job. Certain she's come to terms with her past, she is soon rocked when a new murder investigation triggers deep-seated emotions from her childhood. She is determined to find the perpetrator before he kills again, but, to do so, she must betray both her family and her Amish past and expose a dark secret that could destroy her.
