Plot Synopsis

The last of the giant American Battleships, USS Iowa, is on its farewell tour of duty, helmed by Captain James Winston. Out at sea it runs across a mystery ship that vanishes practically right before its crew's eyes. Meanwhile, on both coasts of the U.S., military bases come under missile attack with no warning. When counter attacks are attempted, all electronics fail. Unable to stop the attacks or even identify the attackers, the country's defenses are quickly defeated. Fortunately, the Iowa is so old that it's not nearly as reliant on electronics as modern ships. Captain Winston decides to attack. But their Gulf War-era smart missiles fail to hit the target. With communication down, he decides to give chase. They follow the ship out into the wide Pacific, getting only intermittent sightings. Believing it is work of North Korea, the U.S. threatens all out retaliation. But Capt. Winston suspects that this is not a North Korean ship he's hunting but an alien vessel. With international tensions rising, he must race against time to capture the stealth ship and stop the alien invasion.
