Plot Synopsis
In 1971 New York, inmates at Attica prison rioted against the inhuman conditions and barbaric treatment they received by the brutal guards. One young neophyte guard is wounded and taken hostage during the uprising, refusing to cooperated with his captors. He soon forms a bond of moral courage with a black activist prisoner who tries to stop the bloodbath that resulted in the deaths of 32 convicts and 11 guards.
