Plot Synopsis
Based on a series of popular young-adult novels. A modern day tale that follows the journey of 19-year-old Heaven, the sheltered adopted daughter of one of Japan's wealthiest and most powerful families. Heaven finds herself in San Francisco for her arranged wedding and is given the family's ancestral sword that should have gone to her beloved but disowned brother, Hiko. As the vows are about to be finalized, the room is plunged into darkness and the ceremony is interrupted by a group of attacking Ninjas. To her amazement one of them is Hiko. He pulls her through the chaos and quickly explains that the Ninjas were intent on kidnapping her and that he intends to get her to safety at the home of his friend, Jake Stanton. But as they are about to escape Hiko is killed. Heaven learns that the Yakuza - the Japanese Mafia - have infiltrated their family and that she is in danger. Bewildered at the allegations about her family and determined to avenge Hiko's death, she begins to train as a Samurai and embarks on a quest for answers to her family's secrets and her mysterious past.
